Summer Festival Farmers Market with Suzuki Farm and Sunrise Mart

Suzuki Farm x Sunrise Mart x Oishii Nippon Project

Presenting the Farmers Market at Japan Village Summer Festival (夏祭り市場)

Saturday, August 27, 2022, 2pm - 6pm

We are so excited to collaborate with Sunrise Mart and Suzuki Farm to offer Japanese vegetables at the Summer Festival at Japan Village this year. This is the second annual Summer Festival – last year's event brought over 2000 people to the courtyard to enjoy performances, games, food and much more.

Suzuki Farm is a farm in Delmar, Delaware that has been growing a wide array of Japanese vegetables for over 40 years.

Sunrise Mart has been offering Japanese produce and products since 1995, and now has several locations across New York City, including in Japan Village.

We will offer fresh Japanese vegetables such as shishito peppers, nasu/eggplants, cucumbers, negi, and more! Seeds and ONP merchandise will also be available for purchase at the market.

We would love to see you there!

Saku Saku Cabbage Wraps with Panko-Crusted Shrimp

Cabbage is commonly used in Japanese cuisine to add balance to heavy ingredients, especially fried foods. As a nutrient-dense, satisfyingly crunchy, low-carb alternative to standard wraps, Saku Saku cabbage is perfectly matched with panko-fried shrimp in this wrap recipe. Add in smooth avocado and creamy aioli for a truly delicious, balanced dish.

Saku Saku Cabbage and Ohba Shiso Salad with Nori

This cabbage salad is highly satisfying, featuring nutrient-dense and highly crunchy Saku Saku cabbage. The sweetness of the cabbage itself and the aroma of Ohba is complemented by Ponzu dressing. Nori seaweed and roasted sesame seeds add a grounding, savory, salty element for a satisfying appetizer or side dish.
